About – John Hurtubise

My name is John Hurtubise and I am a computer science major at Carleton college. Over the 3 years I have been at Carleton, I have been striving to better my knowledge and skills within my field. I have also decided to minor in data science to assist in this journey. I spend most of my free time undertaking personal projects to learn concepts outside the scope of the Carleton Curriculum. Recently, I have had the opportunity to work with the Music and Computer Science department on research on AI generated music.

During my time here I have been apart of the Carleton baseball team, competing in over 30 D3 NCAA sanctioned games a year. On top of this I devote another 15+ hours a week to practicing and lifting. This commitment has developed my work ethic and leadership skills in ways class work cannot. It has given me a close community of friends to spend my time with.

In the near future, I plan to release some of the projects I have been working on the past few months. In this, I hope to learn more of the intricacies of starting a business within the tech world. I also have goals relating to baseball and my school work. With so much of my time devoted to these areas, I am striving to perform better year after year.
